Dean Wolf stands backstage at the Fair Park Coliseum with the November 25 booking sheet.
Wolf: Well, it didn’t take long for the powers that be here in Outlaw Wrestling to book a match between John Blade and I. I just hope he’s up for it after the shit-kicking I gave him just a few nights ago.
Waylon Harvey did you no favors putting you in this match with me, John. If I were a “smart” businessman like Harvey, maybe I would have waited until after this Grand Prix tournament is over before putting you in the ring with me.
I’m not a technical wrestler looking to win this match by using a bunch of holds. I’m not an aerial wrestler whose purpose is to “wow” the crowd with dazzling dives. No, I’m just a fighter, and when I step into a wrestling ring, it’s fucking blitzkrieg. I bring all of the weapons at my disposal and release them onto my opponent with the fury of a thousand armies all flanking the enemy at exactly the same time. I plan on breaking bones. I plan on drawing blood. I plan on leaving black and blue marks all over your body, John. That’s how I wrestle. That’s how I win matches; and when it’s all said and done, there’s going to be a big hole in the Grand Prix bracket right where your name should be. All the matches where the name “John Blade” is listed as a participant are going to have to be scrapped because you will not be able to make it to those matches.
None of this is to suggest that you're a bad wrestler, John. I don’t believe that at all. I just think your head is in the wrong place. Hustle? Loyalty? Respect? I’ll sign on to one of those principles. You certainly have to hustle to make it in this sport. I’m going to hustle into that ring to beat the living crap out of you. But loyalty and respect? Ha! Those two things don’t exist in this business, and you're foolish for trying to apply them to this cesspool of an industry. Lord knows I tried and I ended up looking like an idiot. The only principle that I live by anymore is to get what’s mine before somebody else gets it. That’s the true path to success.
And don’t worry about living up to your “Never Give Up” catchphrase. It’s a nice marketing tool and when our match is over, you can still use it to sell all the merchandise you want. It’s just that, I’m not going to give you the time to even decide if you want to give up. You’re going to be unconscious, laying in a pool of your own blood as I cover you for the 1-2-3.
So tonight, don't worry about giving up. Just worry about seeking the wolf...
He crumples the sheet and tosses it over his shoulder
Wolf:...in thyself.
